                              Nursery is a well established Early Years
                              preschool nursery that offers morning (8:30 - 11:30) and afternoon (12:30 - 3:30) sessions for 2 to 5 year olds, Monday to Friday during term-time. If your child is attending either (or both) of these sessions then they can also stay with us for lunch (11:30 - 12:30) but they must bring a packed lunch in with them. 
                             
                            The nursery has been in operation for over 40
                            years, and is managed by the committee of the
                            Chelwood And District Welfare Association, Registered Charity Number 521160. C.A.D.W.A. Nursery employ
                            three highly qualified and experienced child care
                            practitioners who have each been dedicated to the
                            nursery for over ten years. 
                             
                            C.A.D.W.A. Nursery implements
                            the Early Years Foundation Stage (E.Y.F.S.), which
                            sets the statutory standards that all Early Years
                            childcare providers must meet. This includes all
                            maintained schools, non-maintained schools,
                            independent schools and all other providers on the
                            Early Years Register. 
                             
                            The E.Y.F.S. aims to provide: 
                                 quality and consistency in all
                            early years settings 
                                 a secure foundation for all
                            children for good progress through school and life 
                                 partnerships between different
                            practitioners  
                                 partnerships between parents or
                            carers and practitioners 
                                 equality of opportunity for all
                            children  
                             
                            All staff have a sound knowledge of the E.Y.F.S. and
                            plan, observe and evaluate each child's individual
                            learning and development. Children's progress is
                            collected and recorded in achievement portfolios
                            which contain written and photographic evidence. We
                            also work in partnership with parents to gather and
                            share information. 
                             
                            We are a pack away setting which means all equipment
                            and resources have to be put away after each day.
                            The Nursery is always fully set up before the
                            children arrive and the room is organized into
                            specific areas to support all areas of development.
                            The children have daily access to a role play area,
                            creative area, mathematical area, writing area, book
                            area, construction area, small world play also sand
                            and or water and play dough. There is a large secure
                            grassed garden area as well as a covered all weather
                            area for daily outdoor play. The daily routine
                            allows for a mixture of child initiated free play as
                            well as adult guided learning and activities. 
                             
                           
                          
                            C.A.D.W.A. Nursery is OFSTED inspected, 
                            and following our latest inspection (15/12/2017) we were rated as a GOOD
                            Early Years provider. A selection of comments from the latest

                             "Staff know children well and have a good understanding of how they learn. This helps children to make good progress and prepare for their next stage in learning, including the move on to school."
